Punxstawney Phil, the seer of seers, the prognosticator of prognosticators, the "pleasantly plump Pennsylvania marmot," showed up to predict more winter ahead before the listening ears of one of the largest adoring crowds on Ground Hog's Day.   While watching the recording from the Washington Post, my eyes and ears weren't that in tune with Phil, probably because he didn't do anything, at all.  What I noticed were the adoring shouts and cries of the crowd all around.  The words, "I love you Phil!" and "Awww, Phil, I'm so happy!"

What can we learn from all this?  If you do nothing but still have a furry beard, people will love you.  No, that's not it.  What we really can learn is that anyone, not matter your race, religion, or gender, anyone can have a positive affect on people.   If a fuzzy little lazy ground hog can do it, you can too.  Jesus told us that the best way to have an effect is to "Love God" and "Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater commandment than these." (Read Matthew 22:34-40 here)

Today, choose a specific act through which to love God and follow it with an act that loves a neighbor, thereby spreading your Punxstawney positive affect on others.  You'll be glad you did.
