Pizza, Soup, and Donuts - Kindness is sweet when shared

Good morning, this is Topher from Washington Church of Christ, bringing you a message minute.

No one knows all the good things that happen around the community.  Even if you put our good mayor, police chief, newspaper editor, and the marvelous DeWayne Shake in a room together, they couldn't name all the good things that happen on a daily basis.  For instance, yesterday, a sick single mother received at her doorstep a surprise cup of wonderful potato dill soup from Reid's from someone she didn't know.  How about the day before when some kids were surprised by a morning box of sweet donuts from the Bakery House.  Then there was the time I was out helping a friend and a pepperoni pizza from a stranger was delivered from PapaJohn's.  

People, regardless of all the negativity promoted in the world today, there are unsung hero's offering random acts of kindness on a daily basis and they are making this world a better place.    Jesus came to show us that this upside down way of serving others is the way God intended our community to be when He says in Matthew20:27-28a, "Whoever wants to be first must be your servant— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve."

Let's make sure that our community leaders can't keep track  of all the community service going on.  Be someone's unsung hero today by serving up a heaping plate of random acts of kindness.  You'll be glad you did.
